With the pulsed light hair removal, the intense light beam penetrates the
surface skin layers and is absorbed by the melanin contained in the hair and
particularly in the hair bulb, the storage reservoir for melanin.
This absorption causes temperature to rise significantly which is immediately
transmitted to the hair follicle, bringing about selective destruction.
Once entirely destroyed with the pulsed light hair removal, the follicle is
unable to regenerate any hair. If it is simply damaged by the action of the
light, a much finer hair would regrow in place of the former hair and this can
be easily eliminated during regrowth cycles and subsequent treatment sessions.
